Mark studied architecture at the University of Western Australia, graduating in 2001 with Honours with a focus on design research. Mark has since accumulated more than fifteen years of experience in the design, documentation and administration of bespoke residential and commercial projects.
Ten of these years were spent working with award winning Perth architects on a number of projects across Western Australia ranging from concepts for prefabricated construction and one-off, highly detailed residential architecture.
Mark has worked in many parts of the world including the UK, Singapore and Poland and has tutored at the University of Western Australia. His teaching experience and the insight into different living environments gained from exposure to international projects has contributed to Mark’s fascination with detailing and has allowed him to hone his skills in resolving and delivering the fundamental elements of good architecture.
Currently working between Perth and Europe and traveling extensively whenever he has a free moment, Mark contributes a detailed and international focus to the practice.

After completing a Bachelor of Environmental Design, Carlson undertook post graduate study and gained his Masters of Architecture from the University of Western Australia.
He has entered the profession with a wide range of interests, complimentary qualifications and practical experience. Prior to commencing his architectural studies, Carlson lived and worked in New York. During his studies, he augmented and contrasted his experience of US architecture and design with travel to various countries in Europe and Asia to study the architectural styles. Carlson particularly enjoyed the scale and urban fabric of Northern European and Scandinavian cities where housing density, resource use and walking/cycling infrastructure is thoughtfully planned.
Carlson also completed formal study abroad at the Manchester School of Architecture as part of an exchange program.
Carlson’s interests include environmental and sustainable design. His interest in these areas, specifically household renewable energy systems, led him to complete a Diploma of Electro-Technology. On the completion of his academic studies, Carlson undertook and completed three design and renovation projects before joining mountford architects and brings his extensive practical construction knowledge and experience to the practice.

With 20 years’ experience in interior design in the commercial world working at large scale practices such as Woods Bagot and Geyer, Sarah continues to work on corporate and retail commissions but has more recently concentrated on domestic interior design.
